Designed for dentists and their teams, this program will cover medical emergencies that can occur in the dental office with the focus being on preventing such emergencies, including: 1) staff preparation; 2) appropriate equipment and supplies, 3) taking a thorough medical history and appropriately reviewing it with the patient and 4) knowing and being aware of each patient's medical problems before their arrival and during their dental appointment.

Discussion will include what to do in the event of a medical emergency including early recognition and treatment. There will be discussion on airway management as it pertains to basic cardiac life support as well as the use of the AED (Automated External Defibrillator).

You will leave the course with a strong understanding of how to prevent medical emergencies through proper patient evaluation and preparation and how to efficiently manage an emergency through early recognition and treatment.

Recommended for the entire dental team.
