CADS CE Social Club: From Benign to Malignant  - A

A Case-Based discussion of the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term effects of benign and malignant pathology.
 
Objectives: 
1. Discussion of Oral Pathology Screening
2. Review Biopsy Techniques and Diagnosis
3. Review Treatment of "Common" Lesions
4. Discuss Updates in Long-Term Effects of Aggressive Benign and Malignant Pathology and How it Affects Future Dental Care/Treatment

Dr. Jayson Kirchhofer:

Dr. Jayson Kirchhofer, DMD, MD is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who has been practicing Oral Surgery in “The Valley” since 2021.  He is currently on staff at multiple hospitals in the Phoenix area and provides call services at two Level 1 Trauma Centers treating a vast array of pediatric and adult head and neck soft tissue injuries, facial fractures, gunshot injuries, and emergent dental conditions.  Dr. Kirchhofer also enjoys assisting in the training of the Oral & Maxillofacial Residents at Banner University Medical Center as a Clinical Assistant Professor for the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Born and raised in Oregon City, Oregon, Dr. Kirchhofer completed his undergraduate education at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon, where he played four years of collegiate baseball. He then matriculated into the DMD Dental program at Oregon Health & Sciences University where he was actively involved in multiple community outreach programs including the “Mission of Mercy” in Portland, OR, as well as the “Compassion Clinic” in Tigard, OR. Upon completion of his dental training, Dr. Kirchhofer completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency training at the University of Florida where he also obtained his MD Medical degree.  While in Residency, he continued his passion for community outreach being involved in the “Misson of Mercy” in Jacksonville, FL, and visiting the Dominic Republic for a Medical Mission Trip with the University of Florida, College of Medicine.   He currently holds both Arizona Dental and Medical Licenses, as well as a General Anesthesia Permit for the state of Arizona.

Dr. Kirchhofer has extensive training in Anesthesia, Dentoalveolar/Implant surgery, All-on-X and Zygomatic Implants, Orthognathic “Jaw” Surgery, Non-surgical and Surgical TMJ Therapies, Oral Pathology, and Craniomaxillofacial Trauma and Reconstruction.  He has added clinical interests in All-on-X, Orthognathic Surgery, and combined TMJ/Orthognathic Surgery for Facial Asymmetries.

Dr. Kirchhofer and his wife, Katelyn, live in Scottsdale surrounded by family.  In his time away from the office, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, following his favorite sports teams, and golfing.
