Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to assess and update risk management practice they currently employ; understand that the ultimate result of improved risk management is improved patient care; engage in effective communication with patients, co-workers and colleagues; make the informed consent process a critical success factor in patient management; understand risk management implications of the doctor-patient relationship; implement record keeping practices that enhance patient care and thereby reduce malpractice risks; understand how the concepts of the standard of care and professional negligence apply to dental practice and develop and implement effective office, staff, patient care and practice management policies.

IMPORTANT: Attendees insured under the PPP receive 7.5% credit on their Professional Liability premium upon renewal each year for three consecutive years. Attendance for the entire seminar is required. Dentists not currently insured by the PPP can quality for the credit if they purchase their coverage within one year of attending the seminar.

Dr Jill Baskin:

Dr. Baskin received her dental degree from the University of Illinois Dental School. She completed a general practice residency at the University of Illinois Hospital.

Currently Dr. Baskin practices general dentistry in a private practice in addition to the Children's Clinic. She has been recognized for her leadership in 2008 with the Healthy Smiles Hero Award bestowed on 16 dentists in Illinois and in 2012 with the Golden Toothbrush Award, a Chicago area award.

Since July 1996, Dr. Baskin has been reviewing dental professional liability claims for CNA's Health Pro in addition to presenting the national risk management seminar since 1989.
