9:00 AM –What Can I Do with a Sedation Permit? (3 hours)

Learn about the types of sedation and permit process available through BODEX.  Course includes:

·        Options and Limitations to Sedation

·        Application and Onsite Evaluation

·        Medication Management Requirements, Monitoring, and Recordkeeping

The administration of oral sedation offers a tremendous opportunity for any dentist to enhance and improve patient treatment options and acceptance.  Any form of sedation administered in the office requires a team approach and including your staff in this CE is encouraged as there will also be discussion about team member roles and responsibilities.

3:00 PM -- Medical Emergencies

Medical emergencies can happen anytime and to anyone present in the dental office -- patients, staff or the dentist as well as family or friends who came to the office with the patient. Having appropriate prevention systems in place can mean the difference between successfully surviving a catastrophic event and having an unfortunate outcome. You will leave the course with a strong understanding of how to prevent medical emergencies through proper patient assessment and preparation and how to efficiently manage an emergency through early recognition and treatment.

Proceeds from this course benefit the Arizona Dental Foundation (ADF) which directs its efforts toward community related activities that expand AzDA's ability to bring much-needed dental care to underserved Arizonans.  Registration fee for this course is deductable to the extent allowed by law.  Consult your tax advisor for more information.
